According to Lemay 1995, vol. III, 469 on l. 433, the Arabic phrase means ‘the horse Centaur’, deriving from Persian asb ‘horse’ and the Greek Κένταυρος. The Arabic term is not documented in Lisān, Freytag, Lane, Dozy and Wehr.
